World of Warcraft is an ‘extremely popular’ massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), and if you haven’t heard about it, then you surely must be living under a rock.

Developed by Blizzard Entertainment, the same studio house that produces Overwatch, World of Warcraft was initially launched in 2004 and since then the developers have released as much as 7 expansion packs.

The recent expansion pack is called as Word of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth; also referred to as WOW BFS, launched in 2018 and the list of laptops mentioned below are powerful enough to play it without any hint of stutter or lag.

So let’s jump into our list of Best Laptop for World of Warcraft, where I’ll show that no matter what your budget is; you can always find laptops that can run WOW smoothly.

Are you ready?

Let’s get started!

Our Reviews Of The Best Laptop for World Of Warcraft: Battle For Azeroth

#1 HP Omen 15-DC1030NR

HP Omen 15-DC1030NR

2019 brought launches of multiple new graphics cards from the house of Nvidia. One such popular card is Nvidia RTX 2060.

The initial laptops launched with RTX 2060 had prices that hit the roof and close to $2000.

However, once HP got into the game; they priced gaming laptops with RTX 2060 under $1500.

The HP Omen 15-1030NR is one such laptop that comes with Nvidia RTX 2060 GPU that is priced just shy of $1300, which is definitely a steal for budget gamers that want to lay their hands on the latest hardware.

Along with such a powerful GPU, you also need a powerful CPU to avoid bottleneck.

HP has taken care of that too by offering a 2.3GHz Hexa-core Intel Core i7-8750H CPU that offers Turbo Boost up to 4.1GHz when under load that ultimately prevents throttling.

Since World of Warcraft is a fast-paced action game, it will definitely benefit from 144Hz refresh rate on HP Omen DC-1030NR Full HD screen that prevents ghosting, along with immersive gameplay experience.

The screen has thin bezels on all 3 sides that helps in offering captivating visuals; though it’s not as thin as 5mm bezels that you get on Razer or MSI laptops; though the price it’s sitting at, I’m not at all complaining.

On the storage front, you get a 128GB SSD, along with 1TB HDD that is coupled with 16GB DDR4 RAM.

Note: Blizzard Entertainments recommends a minimum of 70GB SSD space for World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth; hence I recommend to swap this 128GB SSD with at least a 256GB NVMe SSD.

Pros

  • Excellent Configuration at very affordable price
  • Offers Nvidia RTX 2060 GPU for under $1500
  • Thunderbolt 3 support
  • Better battery life than its competition

Cons

  • A bit on the heavier side

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

  • Processor: Intel Core i7-8750H
  • RAM: 16GB DDR4
  • Storage: 128GB NVMe SSD + 1TB HDD (7200RPM)
  • Graphics Card: Nvidia RTX 2060
  • Operating System: Windows 10 Home Edition
  • Weight: 5.56 pounds
  • Connectivity Features: 1x USB 3.1 Type C (Thunderbolt 3), 3x USB 3.1, 1x HDMI 2.0, 1x Headphone/microphone combo, 1x Microphone-in, 1x Mini Display Port
  • Estimated Battery Life: ~5 Hours (70Wh)

#2 Razer Blade 15

Razer Blade 15

We all know that gaming laptops are bulky; however, if you want to enjoy playing World of Warcraft on the go, then you should take a look at the 2019 edition of Razer Blade 15.

It is a sub-4.5lbs laptop that can give a lot of desktop gaming system a run for their money.

For starters, the 0.70” thickness of this laptop holds a 6-core Intel Core i7-8750H CPU coupled with Nvidia RTX 2070 Max-Q GPU, which boasts of an 8GB DDR6 memory along with memory clock speed of whopping 12000MHz. Additionally, you are also offered a 512GB NVMe SSD as well.

It is definitely Razer’s brilliant engineering that makes it possible to hold such a powerful system within a thickness of 0.7-inches and width that is just shy of 14-inches.

You’d be shocked to know that its smaller frame of 13.98-inches to be precise holds a 15.6” Full HD screen that offers 144Hz of refresh rate and very low response time.

Note: Few models of Razer Blade 15 come with a 60Hz display, hence if you’re planning on buying one; make sure to check the screen’s refresh rate.

It happens to have tiny bezels of 5mm on its left and right side, whereas a bit thicker on top due to the presence of the webcam.

Design wise; Razer Blade 15 looks sort of similar to Apple Macbook Pro series of laptops but it’s unique and blacked-out appearance gives it a modern and oomph appeal.

On the connectivity front, you get 3x USB 3.1 ports, Thunderbolt 3 port, Mini Display 1.4, HDMI 2.0, along with headphone combo jack.

All in all, the Razer Blade 15 is an excellent laptop; though the only downside is the price and the fact that it comes with 16GB DDR4 RAM rather than 32GB for such high price.

Pros

  • Commendable Built Quality
  • Very lightweight compared to its specifications
  • Superb Touchpad
  • Great selection of connectivity options

Cons

  • Suffers from Coil Whine
  • Sits on the pricier side

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

  • Processor: Intel Core i7-8750H
  • RAM: 16GB DDR4
  • Storage: 256GB NVMe SSD + 1TB HDD
  • Graphics Card: Nvidia RTX 2070 Max-Q
  • Operating System: Windows 10 Home Edition
  • Weight: 4.63 pounds
  • Connectivity Features: 1x USB 3.1 Type C (Thunderbolt 3), 3x USB 3.1, 1x HDMI 2.0 1x Headphone/microphone combo, 1x Mini Display Port
  • Estimated Battery Life: ~5-5.5 Hours (80Wh)

#3 MSI GV63 8SE-014

The common notion with MSI laptop is that they are costly; however, there are few exceptions, and the MSI GV64 8SE-014 is one of them.

For under $1400, you get an Intel Core i7-8750H CPU (clocked at 2.3GHz), 16GB DDR4 RAM, 256GB NVMe SSD + 1TB HDD (7200 RPM) and an Nvidia RTX 2060 6GB DDR6 GPU, which by MSI standards leans towards the budget side.

Obviously, you also get pampered with a lightweight body and slim design; although it misses on thin screen bezels nor does it come with mulitple color customization; but if your primary concern is to have the best laptop to play WOW; then this won’t disappoint.

Like for example, it comes with a 15.6” Full HD screen that offers a refresh rate of 120Hz; which may not seem as cool as 144Hz, yet it’s a lot better than 60Hz that you find on most budget gaming laptops.

The entire laptop is built entirely out of plastic, yet it is sturdy and doesn’t squeaks or squeals.

You can find red accents all along the laptop, which is a common sight among budget gaming laptops.

Though what makes this laptop standout is that it comes with 4 Exhaust Vents (2 at the back and 2 on either side) that offers efficient cooling while playing WOW at full load.

Furthermore, the laptop comes with 2 large fans and 6 copper pipes that allow for proper dissipation of heat.

On the connectivity front, you get 3x USB 3.0 port, USB-C port (doesn’t support Thunderbolt 3), HDMI port, Ethernet Port, SD Card, separate Headphone and Microphone jack along with Killer Ethernet E2400 and preinstalled Windows 10.

Pros

  • Lightweight laptops
  • Better storage options for the price
  • Thunderbolt 3 support
  • Lightweight laptop at lower price

Cons

  • Last only for 1.5-2 hours while gaming

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

  • Processor: Intel Core i7-8750H
  • RAM: 16GB DDR4
  • Storage: 512GB NVMe SSD
  • Graphics Card: Nvidia RTX 2060
  • Operating System: Windows 10 Home Edition
  • Weight: 4.8 pounds
  • Connectivity Features: 1x USB 3.1 Type C, 3x USB 3.1, 1x HDMI 2.0, 1x Headphone/microphone combo, 1x Microphone-in, 1x Mini Display Port, 1x Ethernet Port
  • Estimated Battery Life: ~3-4 Hours

#4 Gigabyte Aero 15-X9-RT5W

Gigabyte Aero 15-X9-RT5W

The problem with most gaming laptops is that they don’t last long on battery. Though it is always recommended to play games by connecting your laptop to AC power.

However, while you’re traveling it definitely helps if your laptop can offer extra juice for gaming-on-the-go, isn’t it?

This is where Gigabyte Aero 15-X9-RT5W comes into the picture because it comes with a whopping 94Wh battery that offers around 8-10 hours of battery on moderate usage and around 3-4 hours while gaming.

If technical numbers confuse, then let me explain with an example:

Most gaming laptops come with a 48-54Wh battery that lasts for an average of 4-5 hours with moderate use and a measly 1.5 hours once you’re gaming.

This definitely makes it irritating to see your game left incomplete due to dead battery. Hence a bigger battery laptop is undoubtedly an ideal choice while playing WOW.

Though the battery isn’t the only USP of this list laptop because, for a price of around $2K, the Gigabyte Aero 15-X9-RT5W comes with an Intel Core i7-8750H CPU along with Nvidia RTX 1070 Max-Q GPU, which has 8GB DDR6 memory and a memory clock speed of 12000MHz.

Note: At the time of writing, Gigabyte Aero 15-X9-RT5W had special pricing; hence pricing may vary depending on the date you’re viewing it or your location.

Just like the previously mentioned Razer Blade 15, this laptop too has a smaller footprint with its width measuring at 14-inches and thickness of 0.74-inch.

With a smaller 14-inch width, it holds a 15.6” Full HD Screen that has 99% sRGB color accuracy and refresh rate of 144Hz.

It sports 5mm bezels on all 3 sides, while the webcam sits towards the screen’s bottom, which possibly is an awkward position for a webcam.

Hence if you plan on live streaming WOW: BFA along with your reaction, then it’s better to get a dedicated webcam.

Another exciting feature of this laptop is the nicely laid out keyboard that also sports a numeric keypad, which is absent on the Razer Blade 15.

It’s per-key RGB lighting gives the laptop a premium feel and makes it a bang-for-your-every-buck-paid laptop.

Pros

  • Great design compared to its competition
  • Offers Nvidia RTX 2070 GPU at a respectable price point
  • Per Key RGB lighting adds to the premium-ness
  • Biggest Battery Life among gaming laptops

Cons

  • Awkward webcam position
  • A bit of flex in the keyboard

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

  • Processor: Intel Core i7-8750H
  • RAM: 16GB DDR4
  • Storage: 1TB NVMe SSD
  • Graphics Card: Nvidia RTX 2070 Max-Q
  • Operating System: Windows 10 Home Edition
  • Weight: 4.49 pounds
  • Connectivity Features: 1x USB 3.1 Type C (Thunderbolt 3), 3x USB 3.1, 1x HDMI 2.0, 1x Headphone/microphone combo, 1x Mini Display Port, SD Card Reader
  • Estimated Battery Life: ~7-8 Hours (94Wh)

#5 HP Omen 15-DC0030NR

HP Omen 15-DC0030NR

Let me be completely honest with you:

I’m a bit biased towards this laptop and have featured it in most gaming related posts on this website.

One of the main reason is that this laptop comes from a reputable brand like HP; from their Omen series and offers a complete value-for-money package when it comes to a gaming laptop.

After talking about a slew of RTX 2060 and RTX 2070 GPU based laptop, which can be overkill while playing World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth.

Hence if you’re looking to save a little, yet still don’t want to skip on marvelous gaming experience, then you should definitely give the HP Omen 15-DC0030NR a big wide look.

Though the Nvidia GTX 1060 maybe 50-60% slower than the RTX 2060 GPU, it is still 80-90% faster compared to GPUs mentioned in the recommended section of World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth system requirements.

Moreover, compared to pricier laptops, the HP Omen 15-DC0030NR has skinny bezels on either side of the screen that offers immersive gameplay on a budget laptop.

Unlike most gaming laptops that come with single-color keyboard backlighting, this one happens to have 4-zone RGB lighting, which might not seem as cool as per-key RGB lighting; yet it’s still better not being stuck with single color keyboard.

HP Omen 15-DC0030NR sports a metal chassis, whereas the body panels are built using plastic that ultimately gives the laptop a solid feel, yet still keeping the price down.

This laptop has multiple connectivity ports, with most of them situated on the backside.

Other than that it includes 16GB 2666MHz RAM, 128GB M.2 NVMe SSD + 1TB HDD, with the laptop weighing in at 5.5lbs.

Pros

  • Admirable Built Quality
  • Affordable laptop with Nvidia GTX 1060
  • Thunderbolt 3 support
  • 4-zone customizable keyboard backlighting

Cons

  • Smaller touchpad
  • Most ports are towards the back

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

  • Processor: Intel Core i7-8750H
  • RAM: 16GB DDR4
  • Storage: 128GB NVMe SSD + 1TB HDD (7200RPM)
  • Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX 1060
  • Operating System: Windows 10 Home Edition
  • Weight: 5.56 pounds
  • Connectivity Features: 1x USB 3.1 Type C (Thunderbolt 3), 3x USB 3.1, 1x HDMI 2.0, 1x Headphone/microphone combo, 1x Microphone-in, 1x Mini Display Port
  • Estimated Battery Life: ~4 Hours (70Wh)

#6 Asus TUF FX504

Asus is a popular brand when it comes to gaming laptops; however, its newer laptops with RTX 2060 costs well over $1700, which fall flat in comparison to the one from HP mentioned at #1 position.

Though Asus does manufacturers budget gaming laptops under its TUF sub-brand, with few shortcomings.

First one is definitely the fact that this laptop comes with red accents all around its body along with a red-backlit keyboard, which may not be a favorite choice among modern and younger gamer.

Other than that, the entire plastic built of this laptop makes it look cheap along with gaudy looking design. Though it still helps to keep the weight down to 5lbs.

Moreover, most users may also not like the thick screen bezels that look so 2017-ish.

However, if your paramount concern is what’s inside the laptop and not how it looks; then you should definitely take a look.

Priced close to $1000, the Asus TUF FX504 offers an Intel Core i7-8750H CPU that is coupled with equally powerful Nvidia GTX 1060 GPU mentioned in laptop above.

You also get a 16GB DDR4 RAM, 256GB PCIe SSD + 1TB HDD, Gigabit Wifi and preinstalled Windows 10 Home edition.

Though what’s exciting here is that for price close to $1000, Asus offers a 120Hz display that has a response time of 3ms.

This feature makes it very ideal for playing fast-paced action game like WOW, although Asus has skimped on an IPS display panel; hence one has to make sure to keep the screen at a proper angle to enjoying gaming without color shifting.

The Asus TUF FX504 comes with 12v Dual Fans and 2 copper that offers excellent dissipation of heat; however, if you still experience the laptop to be hot while gaming; you should definitely get a Laptop Cooler.

Pros

  • Sports 120Hz display at a very affordable price
  • Full Size Keyboard
  • Lightweight compared to its competition

Cons

  • Absense of IPS display
  • Could get heated quickly due to poor heat dissipation design

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

  • Processor: Intel Core i7-8750H
  • RAM: 16GB DDR4
  • Storage: 256GB NVMe SSD + 1TB HDD (7200RPM)
  • Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX 1060
  • Operating System: Windows 10 Home Edition
  • Weight: 5.1 pounds
  • Connectivity Features: 2x USB 3.0, 2x USB 2.0, 1x HDMI, 1x Headphone/microphone combo, Ethernet Port
  • Estimated Battery Life: ~3-3.5 Hours (48Wh)

#7 Dell G3 17.3″

Dell G3 17.3"

All the 6 laptops mentioned above come with an Intel Core i7-8750H and priced well over $1000, and a couple of them above $2000 too.

However, the laptop on the #7 position is for gamers who are on an extremely tight budget, yet still want to get their hands on World of Warcraft: BFA.

This can include readers who are in their teenage and want to get their hands on portable gaming or readers who have saved enough money to upgrade from their day-to-day use laptop.

On the processor front, Dell G3 comes with Intel Core i5-8300H, which is not as fast as previously mentioned Intel Core i7-8750H, yet it still exceeds the recommended processor for playing WOW: BFA.

Since it comes with a 17.3” screen, it weighs a lot at 6.2lbs.

The Dell G3 surely is a monster laptop, and if you’re a teenager; then I recommend to avoid traveling with this laptop. You might cause yourself constant back pain.

The best part here is that it comes with Windows 10 Home preinstalled; hence you don’t have to worry about purchasing a new Windows license or keep fidgeting with Ubuntu OS.

On the design front, Dell has absolutely nailed with the G3 design. It surely can give a lot of pricier laptop a run for its money; just based on its design.

It features a matte-black color scheme throughout the laptop with Oceanic Blue accents around the laptop, on keyboard keys and around the trackpad.

The fact that the keyboard keys are backlit too offers an added advantage.

Being priced so low, Dell hasn’t skimped on connectivity options, and you get a plethora of options including the latest Bluetooth 5.0 module.

All in all, if you’re extremely tight on budget; then try to get this laptop, if not, then any of the 5 laptops mentioned above will be suffice.

Pros

  • Available at an inexpensive price point
  • Offers Nvidia RTX 1060 GPU under $900
  • Full Size Keyboard with Back-lighting
  • Comes with an NVMe SSD

Cons

  • Very heavy at 6.3 lbs
  • Not portable

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

  • Processor: Intel Core i5-8300H
  • RAM: 8GB DDR4 2666MHz
  • Storage: 128GB NVMe SSD + 1TB HDD (5400RPM)
  • Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX 1060
  • Operating System: Windows 10 Home Edition
  • Weight: 6.2 pounds
  • Connectivity Features: 1x USB 3.1 Type C, 3x USB 3.1, 1x HDMI 2.0, 1x Headphone/microphone combo, Ethernet Port
